There is an element of Siamese in the Chocolate Persian, which may account for a certain sauciness in its nature. The Chocolate Point Siamese was mated with Blue Persian cats to create part of the formula for the Persian Colorpoint.
The Chocolate was an offshoot, and gradually, through generations of breeding, it became a recognized variety in its own right. The ideal show cat has a medium to dark, warm and evenly toned coat with no shading, markings or white hairs.
Warmth of tone rather than a deep dark bitter chocolate is very important. Kittens sometimes show graying, although this often disappears at six to nine months. Eyes should be rich copper orange with no signs of reversion to pale gold or green.
With their Siamese ancestry, the early Chocolate Persian Cat often had shorter fur than most Persians, but this is no longer the case nowadays.

Chocolate Persian Cat
Persian cats are available in a number of colors and color variants, but one of the more interesting solid colored cats of this breed to ever be produced is the Chocolate Persian cat. For those who have not seen an actual cat of this breed, then they are the ones that look like a Teddy Bear! Indeed, these cats look like stuffed animals when you look at them and it would be hard pressed to think they are living animals until you see them move!
A lot of people are unaware that there is a chocolate gene being bred amongst Persian cats these days. It is therefore one other option for those who wanted to raise and breed this type of cat, which holds a celebrity status among other breeds of cats today.
Despite the celebrity status and popularity of these Persian cats though, they are known to be very stocky cats. But the chocolate Persian cat does have its own unique qualities that make it a good choice amongst pet owners and breeders. In order to breed a chocolate Persian cat and have that visual chocolate solid color, it is important that both parents must have the chocolate gene in them. This is why this particular breed of Persian cats is considered rare. However, there are various breeding possibilities with a Chocolate Persian because you can produce other more rare breeds, such as the chocolate tortoiseshell or the chocolate tabby.
All Chocolate Persian cats are considered to be carriers of the pointed gene, which means it will always produce a unique litter when it breeds with another type of cat. This is another reason why these breeds are considered highly valuable aside from the beauty of the cat itself and the quality of its fur.
The physical features of a chocolate Persian cat is largely similar to a typical Persian. It has a large head, although a bit more round than that of an average cat. A newborn chocolate Persian does have blue eyes, but it will slowly turn into copper once they have grown up. Their copper eyes are one of their most distinctive features, which are big and have a gazing effect on you. In addition, they have long and thick furs, which make them cuddly just like a Teddy Bear!
The personality and temperament of a chocolate Persian cat is sweet and prefers to be kept in a peaceful household. Hence, they are highly domesticated instead of venturing out into untamed environments. Due to their long hair, these Persian cats might require special attention when it comes to grooming. Daily brushing is a must in order to maintain the quality and texture of the furs.
Thankfully, a chocolate Persian, like all other Persian cat breeds, is a hardy one. They frequently live well during the early years of its life and have better immunity against respiratory illnesses than other breeds. If you do have the patience to care and meet the special grooming requirements of this Persian cat, then you will be pleased having this cuddly creature for a pet.
